Roles & Responsibilities
- Travel offsite to customers’ locations to perform maintenance and repair of appliances to ensure top product performance
- Proper use of all safety equipment (PPE), vehicle and diagnostic tools provided by GHS
- Conducts technical diagnosis and performs specialized repairs on a variety of electronics and home appliances
- Diagnose problems, assess the extent of the problem, document findings, make decisions to repair the product and/or replace parts
- Immediately and accurately process paperwork and perform data entry upon completion of each job
- Pre-screen next day service calls by obtaining necessary information to help diagnose problem prior to arriving at customer’s home
- Meet or exceed company metrics (customer satisfaction, first visit fix, productivity)
HSE Minimum Requirement
- Must have a valid driver’s license allowing the legal operation of a service vehicle in the state hired for
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 1 year experience repairing major appliances (Laundry, cooking or cleaning products) or equivalent and successful completion of a recognized trade or tech school program
- Refrigeration, sealed systems experience preferred
- EPA certification is required to perform work on refrigerant sealed systems. Individuals hired for a position that is expected to perform repairs on refrigerant sealed systems or handle refrigerants must have a valid EPA certification or successfully obtain the appropriate EPA certification within 30 days of hire
- Experience and ability in the use of various hand tools, diagnostic and test equipment in order to perform repairs on major appliances
- Meet physical requirements generally associated with field service repair such as continuous bending and lifting up to 50 pounds. Must be physically fit enough to lift and carry heavy equipment. You may be required to crouch or squat to work on equipment for extended periods of time
- Communication skills –use verbal communication skills to speak with customers, listening to their concerns and asking questions when needed to determine the nature of their problems and equipment needs
- Customer service –interact with customers by helping them resolve equipment issues
- Analytical thinking – diagnose equipment problems and determine ways to fix these issues
- Computer skills – ability to use a computer or tablet in order to log information into digital customer files and update digital records of service dispatches
